ARRIVE: Sunday after 3:00 p.m.
DEPART: Following Sunday by 10:00 a.m.
HUNT: Monday thru Saturday

The state of Maine has an estimated population of 23,000 Black Bear, and has long been the destination of hunters who find themselves in pursuit of this intelligent and elusive animal. Black Bear tend to be quiet, solitary, and overly-cautious, preferring to inhabit thick, densely-forested tracts of land. They spend the majority of their time in or around swamps. With an excellent sense of smell and an impulse to avoid human contact, Black Bear are seldom seen in their natural environment and can bolt out of sight within a split second. As a result, the most successful, effective, and humane approach to harvesting a Black Bear in Maine, is to employ the use of ladder-style tree stands overlooking bait.

Our guided Black Bear hunts are conducted overlooking bait from 15' full platform, ladder-style tree stands. Baits are placed 30 days prior to the start of the hunting season and are maintained on a regular basis throughout the season. Adjustments are made to the bait sites when necessary, ensuring active sites for your hunt. Tree stands will be oriented in a manner that will maximize the effectiveness of your individual shooting style and your weapon of choice. Since our #1 focus is YOU, we limit the total number of hunters in camp per week to six. We want your stay with us to be safe, exciting, and successful. Hopefully, friendships will be created that will last for many years to come.

Hunters will be lodged in Wall Tents at our base camp in Wesley, Maine, and meals will be prepared over an open campfire as much as possible. Base camp is located on Beaver Dam Stream, which is home to native Brook Trout, and some fantastic Smallmouth Bass fishing can be found in the numerous lakes and ponds that surround base camp.
